UPLOAD FILE Mary 13:07:44
I have been able to put a component onto a web page that allows you to upload
a file, but when the page is published and you actually browse, choose and
file and hit upload, you get a message box that asks you to sign in to
complete the process. I am not sure how to make the upload file component
work without it delivering that glitch. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Issue with Hover Buttons and Ad Banner Controls Nobody 21:28:12
On our IIS6 web server, these controls don't appear to be working. For
example, the Ad Banner control
just shows up as a white box and says to click to activate control, but
nothing happens.

When I'm editing the site with FP2000 and use the Preview tab, things appear
okay. I'm thinking it
could be a permissions issue on the server.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Website creted in Frontpage 2003, does not display correctly in IE Enjay 18:52:53
I created a new website using Frontpage 2003, however I could not publish it
using FP as our firewall did not allow me to. When custoemrs connect to the
new site using IE7 everything looks fine and works the way it is supposed to.
however when custoemrs connect ot hte site using IE6 the line spacings are
wrong, the link buttons are out of position, some photos do not display and
even the nav bars are missing, what could the cause be?

By the way, I was not able to get to your reply by clicking on the link in
the e-mail that was sent to me indicating that a response had been posted -
that just got me a blank screen.

Inserting a video file Amy 03:40:04
 Hello:

I'd like to insert a video file into my web page using FP. Tried but did
not work. I can convert my video to any format as long as it will play (as
we see in the YouTube web site), and with control buttons.

Could anyone show me what file format and how to insert? I did Insert -
Picture - Video but did not work. All it shows on the web is an icon.
Please see http://www.seto.cc/index2.html.

What did I do wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,

My web site has become infected with the JS/Psyme virus.

When I run my virus checker (AVG) against my FrontPage source files it
detects nothing, but when I open the published site the checker tells me that
the JS/Psyme virus exists in the downloaded temporary file.

Can anyone advise how I can clean up the source files please? (If necessary
I'm prepared to purchase better Virus checking software)

Re: Size of Background Ronx 13:25:11
A textured background would have to be about 10px x 10px - large enough
for the texture, small enough to have a small file size.

A picture background is much more difficult:
How big is the page?
Does the page fill the browser portal whatever size the browser window
is opened at?

If the page is a fixed size, then that is the size for the background
image, with a colour set for the bits the image does not cover.
If the page size can vary, then either the image must be set to not
tile, or it must be designed so that it can tile either vertically or
horizontally, or both, without looking bad.

The smallest browser window I design for is 800px x 600px. There is no
real limit to the maximum size - my monitor set up will display 2560 x
1024 - other displays are bigger.

Re: Hyperlink contents of a cell in an Excel sheet into a web butt Marc Issler 09:42:01
The instructions in the link you gave me were for FrontPage 2000 ... it may
not be different for FrontPage 2003 but it still did not answer the question.
There was no method described to bring text from 1 cell on the Excel sheet
into the Interactive button "Link" field.
Is there another type of button on tool to have the web site attach directly
to an address (like typing http:111.222.333.444 onto a command line)?

Access or SQL database Annettem@Co.Saint-Croix.Wi.Us 21:51:11
I was hoping to have an Access or SQL work order database that resides
on our network. I would like a FrontPage form that will allow users to
enter a work request and it posts to the Access or SQL database.

I first created the db in Access and created the form in FrontPage
with a connection to the access database (not in frontpage but on the
network). Whenever I added information to the form it never went to
the database and I tested the connection and had field mapping
appropriate.

I then repeated the process with a SQL database -- not in frontpage
but on the network. The data entered in the web browser never went to
the database.

I then created an Access database and placed it in the web. I was able
to add records via the form, but couldn't access it when looking at
the access database. As soon as I copied and pasted the database from
the fpdb folder in the website and placed on my desktop, I could see
the entries.

Please help me accomplish this task. I would like to acquire work
requests via the intranet and have them placed in an Access or SQL
database without having to go to the trouble of copying and pasting
from the website to a network area. Is this doable?

ULTIMATELY, I would like the form created on the intranet to have pick
list fields that are options in the database so the data the requestor
submits can pigeon hole directly to the work request table and the
database users will be off and running.

Currently I have people enter their request on our intranet and an
email is sent to a department. The department then keys in the request
to an Access database which seems to be a duplication in effors.

HELP!!!

Thank you!

Form Results Placement Jenn Oink 23:36:18
I have several questions: I am currently working on posting a "blog" type
page for one of my users to post updates as needed. Here are all my issues:
I am using a dynamic web site and I cannot get the form (blog) results to
appear where I want them. They will only show up at the VERY bottom of the
page. Secondly, I can't seem to get the name of the submit button (Submit
Query) to not show up every time I/He posts a new message, and lastly, I want
to be able to password protect the page that allows him to enter his posting
so that not everyone can enter something that will appear on our web site.
Here is the link: elmerumc.org and the "youth" button on the bottom left,
then there is a link called Youth blog on that page at the top under the
youth leaders name. Any hels is appreciated. And yes, I did hear Frontpage
is discontinued and that I need to move on, I just haven't had a chance to
research my options yet. Thanks much! Jenn Lloyd.

always put a link inside the layer to close it when the user is ready. One
drawback to this is that when the layer is visible and active, all other
links outside the layer are still active. Is there a command that I could
use to disable all links but the ones inside the active layer? Thanks.
