| Displaying Text from FTP Site Ricky 16:54:12 |
| | Hi,
I'm using FP2000. I'd like to display text (weather forecast) on a simple page that is some how "pulled" from this site: ftp://ftp2.bom.gov.au/anon/gen/fwo/IDW62823.txt
This forecast is also available in html format also at: ftp://ftp2.bom.gov.au/anon/gen/fwo/IDW62823.html
I realize I can include this forecast if I use frames, though I want to keep my site dead simple, without frames.
Can anyone advise how I might be able to include the forecast on a simple web page?
Cheers, Ricky

| tree view navigation - results of content on the right. Annettem@Co.Saint-Croix.Wi.Us 05:55:17 |
| | I would like to have a tree view navigation on the left border of a page where when a user clicks on a topic, it expands and shows the content within the topic. Then if someone clicks the underlying topic, it will appear on the right (middle of the screen) -- at the same time keeping the tree view to the left.
This would be helpful with such things as navigating through a handbook.
I have tried working with DHTML's and can get a tree view, but do not know how to get it to be on the left side and never move, while the contents display on the right.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

| Search Field Aurora 15:43:58 |
| | I am using FrontPage 2003 The gentleman who developed our Intranet has left the Company and I have been assigned to keep it updated. The developer had a search field for drawing numbers. When you pulled up the search field you could enter the full drawing number or a part of it with a wild card and Frontpage brought up a list of drawings that met the criteria set in the search field. Even though the drawings were all saved in one directory in folders by Company's name. Each company folder could contain anywhere from 1 drawing to 50 drawings. For Ex; If I put 1778* in the search field, I would get a list similar to the following: 1778534 1778555 1778635-C 1778925 etc. Each of these numbers would be a link to the drawing it represents. Click on the number and the drawing you wanted would pop up.
Sorry to say, but something happened and this search field does not work. I tried to re-create it using the Frontpage help, but no matter what I did, when I entered a drawing number I only got a list of pages that it could be found on. Can anyone help me recreate this search field? I really need some help with this.
thank you - Aurora

| | I read that to add an mp3 file that you need to type out the path manually. I hate sounding dumb but how would that look? I know that you go to page properties under the general tab. The clip that I want to include is saved in the Music section as an .m3u under playlists. How would I enter that in the location line? -- Michael A.Roberts

| Batch Rotation of Graphics Guest 22:37:01 |
| | Folks:
I am creating a FP-2000 file which contains about 100 separate graphics/pictures which I cut from a Microsoft Word 2000 document. I am looking for the most efficient way to rotate each of my pictures; 90 degrees to the right. I know that I can rotate each graphic individually using the appropriate rotation icon on the Pictures Toolbar. But I would much prefer to do a batch rotation rather than individual rotations.
* Is there a way to rotate all the graphics in my FP-2000 document, - simultaneously ?
Thanks, JoJo.

| Website diifers from local copy Trevor Lawrence 22:59:58 |
| | This me throws me
I have constructed a site with Google Maps API, and have been updating it to get a better result.
If you go to http://trevorl.mvps.org/ratec/events.html and click on the first map, it opens http://trevorl.mvps.org/ratec/RATECmap.html
This calls the API and gives a red icon in the centre - http://trevorl.mvps.org/ratec/images/red.gif.
The image file for this icon was originally 20*34 which was very small so, on my local copy, I doubled its size to 40*68. I have deleted this image file from the website and recopied my local one several times. On the website its properties now show as 40*68. .
But a small icon keeps appearing on the website. This is annoying, because 1. I want a larger sized image - it has text on it which can't be read at the smaller size.
2. When I try to position the icon, the position varies between my local copy and the website. Positioning in Google Maps API is based on the size of the image. To quote: iconAnchor ( GPoint ) specifies "pixel co-ordinates relative to top left of image at which icon is anchored to map".
This is a bit confusing because which image is being referred to ? If image and icon are the same, it says "position image relative to image " ?!
Anyway, when I change the GPoint coordinates, they do seem to relate to the icon size in some way. When I managed to nicely position the icon (a 40*68 image), the position is wrong for a 20*34 image.
It must be something to so with a cache holding a previous file, but I have tried clearing everything I know e.g using FP Cleaner and deleting temporary internet files in IE7 - although the latter never finishes and I have to cancel it using Process Explorer.
Perhaps someone can tell me where the temporary internet files are stored. When I looked for them, I couldn't find them.
Or does someone know whether Google Maps has its own cache, and I just have to wait 24 hours or so before it is cleared? -- Trevor Lawrence Canberra Web Site http://trevorl.mvps.org

| Updating A Portion Of A Site Jay 17:50:14 |
| | Hi all,
I was a guy who would come in here and answer questions all day long. After a few years away from the game, I'm now here asking "stupid" questions because I no longer remember.
I have a website that I am working on for someone. Within this site, every page contains a box along the right side titles "What's New"... Inside this box, we list links to everything that has been updated.
What I would like to do is be able to make the change once instead of having to copy it to every other page on the site.
Any Ideas would be very much appreciated!
Thanks again for you time.

| How do I insert above the Automatically Generated Content? Crusty 22:31:08 |
| | Hello! I just can't seem to crack this one! I am using FrontPage 2003 & Access 2003. I have created a password-protected page to add records to the database according to the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825498 Here's the problem ... FP automatically generates the form details to the first line of the code, but to make the password work, this needs to be the first part of the code: <% @language="vbscript" %> <!--#include virtual="/_private/logon.inc"--> How do I INSERT those lines so that FP does not move them down automatically? Thanks!

Is this possible? If so, what is the syntax for the anchor or hyperlink on the originating page to get to an anchor somewhere on the hyperlinked page?

| Centering tables in Front Page Vsaun 00:59:29 |
| | I'm having problems centering tables in FrontPage 2002. I want to create a table within another table to have text centered on the webpage. I created the nested table having 1 row and 1 column. The alignment is "center". The nested table shows being off-centered within the table. The space on the left and right of the nested table are not even - there is more space on the right side. What am I doing wrong? There is separate table on the left side of the page which lists the navigation links. I figure this should not affect the nested table, since it is being centered according to only the width measurements of the table that it is in - right?
