Sign up with 1899.com for cheap calls. Then make a new dial-up
networking connection that dials up to 1899 0049 2203 909999, 1899 0049
7248 949999 or 1899 0049 6174 999999 (for simplicity, enter the number
in full including the indirect access code and make sure "Use dialling
rules" is unchecked). The user name is: arcor, the password is: internet.

These are all geographic numbers in Germany and cost 0.5p a minute with
1899 (+ 3p connection fee). Here's a line from my 1899.com itemised
invoice showing that the number is billed as a normal German landline.

Date Time Number calledDurationAmount
29-08-200510:12:07004922039099990:09:29ВЈ0.0774

From BT landlines, I have typically achieved speeds of between 33 and
42 kbps when dialling up in this way. The same numbers can also be used
for ISDN access (64k or 128k).

The service is provided by German ISP Arcor, with whom I have no
affiliation other than as a satisfied customer :-)

If this solution doesn't fit the bill, you could also take a look here:

Cheap dialup (0.4p/ minute anytime) can be had from fireflyuk.net (0808
number). ВЈ25 payment in advance for 100 hours, take as long as you
like to use those hours. I use the service, website is a bit minimal;
service is OK.

 Hi,

Yes of course many thanks for the info. Sorry for not saying so
earlier. I did try asking Clara tech support they told me that their
dialup access was only to 0845 or 0844 numbers. Please could you post
the Clara Geographic dialup number or email it me please? In the mean
time I have signed up for 1899.com and will try the German ISP. I
haven't tried the older list of ISP numbers but will do so shortly and
will report back.

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

Dont be so effing lazy, go look yourself.. You obviously know where the
sources are, considering you know about 1899.. As for reporting back
about "the old list" how amusing, from what I gather, that list you are
talkign about is always uptodate, because I check most of the northern
numbers myself!

And for you to know about using a german ISP, then still ask about a
specific, your outta your mind!..
