| Web pages as .jpg images???? Sal 23:28:59 |
| | Hi,
First of all a confession, I know absolutely nothing about Publisher.
A friend of mine sent me some "Web pages" which have a file extension of jpg. I'm to update these pages as soon as my copy of Publisher arrives and publish them back to the Web. The jpg images are exact replicas of the Web pages I'm to update, including all the text, but shouldn't these have been html files, or does Publisher work directly with jpg images when it publishes to the Web? Thanks.
Sal

| How do I get my E-mail adress "blue" on my website? Vicky120 19:40:44 |
| | I am designing a website but I don't understand when I put an E-mail adress or website address in, you can't click on it and go directly to an E-mail message box or to the website (i.e. it doesn't turn "blue" automatically like when I put my E-mail adress at the end of an E-mail). How do I do that? I am new to this so I need very layman directions....

| Html code fragment home page doesn't work Deb 04:55:02 |
| | I have the below HTML code fragment on several pages on my web design. The code works from ALL pages EXCEPT from the home page. I get the "page cannot be displayed" error.
The code is : <p style="font-family:verdana;font-size:80%"><a href="buying.htm#year end">year end</a> <a name="year end"> </a> </p>
As I said this code works from my ten other pages but not from the home page. I have even created a duplicate of the home page (which became page 2) and the link works. When I deleted the original home page, and page 2 (the duplicate) became page 1, the link didn't work.
Hope someone can help with this strange behaviour!
PS: I am new to web site building and I have found this site amazing! I have found so many helpful suggestions, tricks and info on html code and because of the posts on this site I was able to create a decent web site (my opinion of course). -- Many thanks, Deb

| I cannot copy and paste a html code...why? Breezeandpinky 17:40:02 |
| | I've tried and updated my publisher 2002 Program. I can not copy and past HTML codes into the property window or the created Box on my publication. My copy and paste function works great with all other programs. I can however phyisically type a code into the properties box. Is a text box and INsert code fragment box the same?
I believe there is a missing or corrupt file in my program...can any one help. I have alot of code to input and typing seems so caveman....roast duck with mango salsa?

| web preview not same as publisher view John Richardson 16:04:56 |
| | Reading past postings it appears others too are having serious problems with Web preview in both 2002 and 2003. I think the problem is that text handling within text boxes in normal Publisher view simply does not reflect that as seen in Web Preview (currently Explorer 6) On a totally blank (wide setting) webpage, using standard Times New Roman 12pont (no italic underline or bold) I typed six lines of Mary had a little lamb into a 3.85x3.029cm text box with all margins set to 00. I outlined the box with a 1/4pt line Whereas the text just fitted into the box in Publisher view, in Web Preview whilst the box size was unchanged, there was a large gap between the text and the right and bottom margins of the box. This surely suggests a serious problem with either line spacing, text size or margin setting. This problem could NOT be reproduced in Publisher 2000. 3 questions - Have I got some settings wrong, and if not, why can't Microsoft resolve this problem and what is so drastically different between 2000 and later Publisher versions that can cause this problem, which makes laying out pages accurately virtually impossible.

| I am having problems with a Publisher web-site, please help!? Amber Ives 16:17:22 |
| | I have made my first website using Publisher 2003 - it is a basic website from a format provided in Publisher which I have added to.
It looks great on my PC - nice layout etc. I have published to the web and when I log on from my own PC, it looks great.
However some other people when they log on, say the page is all pushed over to the left of the page and a big white gap on the right side and all the text is odd and not justified, so it seems there is some problem with the layout on the web.
I have NO idea how to solve this - Please please help, I must get this fixed somehow!
Thank you.

| Re: Strange, New Error Message while trying to upload website chan Sommergal 03:27:52 |
| | I just called my web server (earthlink) and was informed I could be ten times as big and still not be out of space. I have plenty of server space left. So that's not it.
I ran the design checker and it only came up with photos not having alternative text - same thing as always - and that's never been a problem before.
Not sure what you mean by a master page...how would I know?
Back to the drawing board - any other ideas??? -- Sommergal

| Saving as Index HTML Ana 02:54:19 |
| | I created a Web Site with Publisher 2002 and downloaded the Service Pack 1 (SP 1). my OS is Windows 98. I need to save it as Index HTML but Publisher by default exports it as HTM. My ISP does not support HTM. The Web Page will no be able to be displayed. At least that is what they said. Thank you.

| Strange, New Error Message while trying to upload website changes Sommergal 18:33:21 |
| | I have Publisher 2003. I've been updating my site and uploading changes regularly without problem. This past week, I keep getting a new error message. After highlighting my ftp address, entering my password, highlighting webdocs and then index.html (as always).....it looks as if it is starting to save the changes to the net and then it pops up with a new error message that says:
The disk is full trying to write c:\documents & settings\Suzan\local...\6EE39F9A.tmp Save this file on a different diskk and/or drive.
Now why is it even trying to save to my hard drive? Shouldn't it be saving directly to the web? And why all of a sudden. Oh...and the numbers before .tmp change each time. It's never the same tmp numbers twice. What the heck is going on? Can anyone help me. I am running windos xp pro. It's a newer, high powered computer. Didn't have troubles before. Why now?
And I do a weekly clean disk and degrag....I did it again since having this problem. So it's not any temp files that need to be cleaned up. -- Sommergal
