| Table Not showing properly. Kevin Chi 17:57:46 |
| | Hi,
I have recently created my website using Publisher 2003. I have used tables on most of the pages. When I tested the website on my PC, everything looks fine but, when I uploaded the pages to my web host and try to view it using IE, some of the tables looked mis-aligned. The funny thing is when I use Firefox to view the page, everything looks fine.
Does anyone know of this problem and can suggest if there is any settings on IE (or Publisher) that I can change to get it to view my website properly?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Regards, Kevin

| Interactive calender in a MS Publisher webpage - Balakrishnan 03:50:25 |
| | I am using PM Publisher to create a website. Is there a way I can embed a calendar object that shows months (scrollable) with some dates highlighted such that user knows there are some events on those days?
If the user clicks a highlighted date, I want to show the details of the event at the bottom of the page.
Thanks.

| Logo Norma J 01:06:19 |
| | I'm trying to make a logo and having problems with clip art. I'm adding text with the piece of art and then grouping together so I can size up or down and no matter what I do, when I start to size smaller, the text starts disappearing. That's even if I make sure in formatting I use "shrink text on overflow". I'm using a vector image right now but I've tried all types and none work when I want to make smaller or larger. I'm also going to have to change this grouped image to a jpeg or gif if I want to put on a new website. Help! I have no clue why I can never resize clip art if it has text attached to it. -- Norma

| Navigation links not working Deech 17:43:35 |
| | I’m building a site. When I do the Web Page Preview, it allows me to “Edit with MS Office Word” in the “File” menu. This is great as it allows me do “Borders and Shading” to text as I am wishing, and it also retains the navigation bar.
I am able to save these changes as an html file on my computer, however there is no change to the original Publisher file. I think that I have worked out that I need to create a link from my publisher file to this new html file (which I have saved in my documents), and this link works great to my MS Word altered html page.
The problem is that the navigation bar on the MS Word html page does not link back to the original publisher file. I have tried publishing my website to my hard drive, which has transformed the pages into html format and given them index files to follow. I then went back to my MS Word html document, and made each navigation bar button link to these new index files, however this has made no difference when actually looking at the website.
I manually created links in the navigation bar of the MS Word html document to each index file which looked like this: ../../../../My%20Documents/testwebpage/index_files/Page353.htm
However when actually looking at the website and hitting the same navigation bar it directs me to this (and says the page cannot be displayed): C:\My Documents\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO\PubWebPagePreview\pub3916.188\index_files\Page353.htm
What am I doing wrong? I am just testing the links before it goes to the web, however I realize that the links will also need to be changed to the correct web addresses in the future
Thanks Deech

| Permafrost problem Olly 06:52:09 |
| | Since downloading seven Microsoft security updates on June 13th, my Publisher 2003 Web file freezes every few seconds when I'm trying to insert images, etc. Is this just a coincidence? I've deleted all the updates, but the problem persists, and I'm in and out of Task Manager like a yo-yo. Any solutions please? From: olly

| VML & PNG & Meta tags Deb 17:58:41 |
| | Morning all, my web site has the following html info at the top of the page, which I believe is preventing my site from being indexed properly. I have unchecked "Rely on VML" and have checked "Allow PNG", but the code still comes up.
I'm using Publisher 2003 with SP2. Web site is www.a2bhomeinspections.com.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of all of this so the meta stuff and the title appear at the top, since this is what all the docs I've reading say to get a high search rating?
<html xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:dt="uuid:C2F41010-65B3-11d1-A29F-00AA00C14882" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">
<head> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <link rel=File-List href="index_files/filelist.xml"> <!--[if !mso]> <style> v\ {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\ {behavior:url(#default#VML);} b\ {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} </style> <![endif]--> <meta name="description" content="Home Inspections"> <meta name="keywords" content="Home Inspections, Home Inspection, Home, Inspecting, Attic 2 Basement, Pre-Listing, Pre-Purchase"> <title>Attic 2 Basement Home Inspections</title> <style>
Any direction would be, as always, very greatful. -- Many thanks, Deb

| how to publish a web site to CDROM in Publisher 2003 Barry Wardle 15:59:10 |
| | I have previously been able to produce a web site containing several pages with links to powerpoint presentations in Publisher. When published the webpages complete with linked powerpoint documents has been transfered to CDROM enabling others to view the page and access the presentations as an educational tool. However, since the University has upgraded to 2003 I am no longer able to do this. How can I accomplish the same functionality as with previous versions of publisher. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

| Pub 2003 Web Design Mls4077 22:48:39 |
| | I use Pub 98 for my website apx 9 pages. Only thing it does not treat pictures very well as they are blotchy our pixely. Pub 2003 treats pictures great but I can only publish 1 page now because of how big the file is. The whole page seems to be treated as one image instead of how Pub 98 treated each picture seperately. When the page is on the web you can't even right click on indivdual pictures to copy them like you can on all other websites including my Pub 98 site.
I read this is how Pub 2003 works but if thats the case I will not use it as it is useless that I can only load one page of my 9 pages now. Pub 98 I use less than 1mb for the website but in Pub 2003 one page alone uses almost my maximum 10mb. Does not make sense that the new version of Pub 2003 is worse for web design than PUb 98.
Any help would be welcomed

| web page size Deech 05:08:02 |
| | Hi, I'm really new to this, and was trying to put together a website today. I was using a wizard and everything was going great. I was cutting and pasting some FAQs I had typed up in Word. They were quite long (about 7 pages). In publisher I got to a point where the "white page" ended, and anything else I put underneath on the grey area would not show up on the website preview. I went to Page Setup in the File menu and did a Custom page size, but this then meant that the wizard info. (navigation menu, title etc.) were changed to mid way down the page and not at the top anymore. Obviously this is a pain to change all the "bits and pieces" on every page again.
So, is there a way to change the page size to a custom size, but still keep the wizard headers at the top? Also, is there a way to just leave the webpage sizes (lengths) open when I am creating a page.....meaning that I can just keep typing downwards like in MS Word.
Also, is there a maximum length that a webpage can be? It looked like I could only put in 24000 pixels as the maximum length (is this correct, and approx. how many printed pages does this equate to?)
