| | I wish I'd known what a disaster I was getting into when I 'upgraded' to
Pub2003 - I started to update my pages and even after I navigated all the
NEW rules I had a site that was very slow because of the new 'PNG' format
attached to some files that inflated them to 10 times their original size.
Thanks DavidF for your advise - I searched under the bed for my old Pub2000
disk and reinstalled it and after spending a week trying to convert the
updated pages back to the old format I just gave up and updated the site
completely in Pub2000.
It works fine now and it's really FAST again as it used to be. So much for
progress! My advise is if you have Pub2000 then KEEP IT for web design and
just use the later version for the rest but only if you have to! Check it
out - I'm no expert but my site works well for me and my customers:

Presently we have a link on the site to a password protected folder.
Is there a way to password protect one of the pagen.html pages?
If so, how?
The method used to protect the folder is with a htaccess and a htpasswd
files.

| | Please advice, I have created my web site of 3 pages. After uploading it
using the FTP software I can only see the first page of my site, I click on
the navigation buttons but nothing happens. I have recreated my web pages
about three times now and cannot understand what I am missing.

Using: MSPublisher 2003
Question: I'm trying to publish created pages that I don't want linked to my
navigation bars. I only want them linked to pages that are then linked to the
navigation bars. How might one go about doing this or is this possible using
Publisher?
Example: I have a "directions & maps" page that I want to link to my
"contact us" page but I don't want the "directions & maps" page listed within
my navigation bars.

say under the help menu in publisher. And I was wondering if I can download
Service Packs for Publisher 2003?
Beyond that, when I export as web page filtered, once as companyname.htm and
then again as index.htm, the ftp site has both the htm and two support files
but the only page that comes up without squares and little red x s is the
home page.

optimized for web. They are in the index file folder. When I go on the site

clients can book appointments online (don't worry it's nothing dodgy, she's a
holistic practitioner reflexology etc)

| | I publish my site via FTP. To get my web links to work (to my own pages), I
have to manually type the whole url and file name to get them to work on the
uploaded page. . When I do this, the selected state feature no longer works.
When I view my site online and hover over a link, it only gives me the page
name, not the whole url, so users cannot access the page. I upload to my root
directory where my web host tells me and my index page comes up, but I have
to do as mentioned above for users to be able to access my pages.

It is laid out perfectly when in Publisher form. But when I publish it as
webpage, the pictures and small text boxes I placed in the page have moved up
or down.
What exactly is happening and how do I fix it?

| | I made a web site in Pub. with text, pictures, etc. then uploaded to verizon
online using ftp. everything shows. it's good, a little slow, but good. my
problem is that i want visitors/clients to be able to right click on pictures
and have the option of "save as picture" or enlarge view. right now when you
right click over the picture that is not an option. Can this be done. or do
i need to create with a different program? any help would be appreciated.
