[xnews] Bad interaction with Terminal Services Client and NetMeeting Piotr Karocki 22:08:37
 Steps to reproduce problem:
1. start xnews
2. start terminal services client, connect to any host
3. return to xnews, open any message with picture

In rare cases, you got picture, mostly - you got some strange error and
xnews must be killed.
Problem is, probably, somehow related to clipboard usage (??)

Similar problem.
1. start xnews
2. start netmeeting (I know, very old program, but still - freeware h.323
client)
3. open any message with picture

Problem is here for very long, last checked versions:
* Xnews 2006.08.05
* Mstsc 5.1
* NetMeeting 3.01 (5.1.2600.2180)

Deploying ear, common services jar in websphere Lavanya123 99 21:20:31
 I have two Ear files ear1, ear2, and common services jar file.The common services jar has some utility classes, ejb classes that are used by both ear1 and ear2. How do I package and deploy the common services jar file?
a) If I include common services jar in both ear1 and ear2 and try to deploy, ear1 will deploy but ear2 will fail to deploy as the jndi names of ejbs are already bound by ear1.
b) If I have to include the client classes of common services jar file in ear1 and ear2 and deploy separately common services jar file, it might work. But how do we create client classes for common services jar that has ejbs? How can we achieve this using ant task?

Appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Why Can't the program find the Connection Factory? Arthur Orange 17:03:41
 Why can't my MDBs not even figure out the existence of the connection factory?

I guess it did sound philosophical but the above is a very basic and a very first step scenario.

The implementation is very simple and straightforward... it should not be so impossibly ridiculously frustrating.

OT-Speaking of country codes Raincoater 11:54:46
 From Slashdot- "As reported on CircleID, the nation of Cameroon, which
controls the .cm top level domain, has typo-squatted all of the .com
domain space. They have placed a wildcard DNS record to redirect all
traffic to an ad-based search page. Unlike the earlier case of Verisign
putting a wildcard in the real .com domain, ICANN has very little direct

 I am having an increased interest on event-driven/reactive systems. I
would like to buy some books on such matter, i mean, on formal aspects
of it, i.e., queueing theory, control theory, etc.... My formal
education is on Computer Science, not engineering.

I am also interested on SDL (ITU Z.100), is there any goog book on such
subject?

Thanks in advance.

Just tried DVDFab and asked it to reduce the quality so that the

What the heck are those files and do I need them all?

NameNotFoundException when porting a working application on WAS 6 to WAS 5.1 Guest 07:13:58
 We are currently certifying our J2EE application on Websphere AS. We have successfully enabled the application on WAS 6 without too many issues but we are now trying to certify it on the 5.1 version as one of our customers has asked for support on that version too. However we have encountered the following NameNotFoundException and we aren't sure exactly what the problem could be. We have attempted to use the bindings generated by WAS 5.1 and also using the bindings created by 6.1 in 5.1 to see if that would help.

Here is the error we get:

[08/08/06 02:39:05:047 BST] 5a00f732 Helpers W NMSV0605W: A Reference object looked up from the context "java:" with the name "comp/env/local/mdata" was sent to the JNDI Naming Manager and an exception resulted. Reference data follows:

Lookup code using indirect JNDI lookup:

mdataLocalHome metadataHome=null;
Context initMetadataCtx = new InitialContext();
metadataHome = (mdataLocalHome) initMetadataCtx.lookup("java:comp/env/local/mdata");

Here is a snippet from ejb-jar that shows how we are doing our indirect JNDI reference:

<ejb-local-ref id="EjbRef_8">
<ejb-ref-name>local/mdata</ejb-ref-name>
<ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
<local-home>com.foobar.server.mdataLocalHome</local-home>
<local>com.foobar.server.mdataLocal</local>
<ejb-link>geoServer.jar#mdata</ejb-link>
</ejb-local-ref>

Here is a snippet from the xmi file:

<ejbRefBindings xmi:id="EjbRefBinding_1154990466474" jndiName="ejb/mdata">
<bindingEjbRef xmi:type="com.ibm.etools.j2ee.common:EJBLocalRef" href="META-INF/ejb-jar.xml#EjbRef_8"/>
</ejbRefBindings>

NOTE: we have tried both using default bindings as well as importing the bindings file created in WAS6.

Does WAS5 do something special with local interfaces or would the same happen with remote? Is our naming convention use of "local" messing things up at all?

Thanks in advice for any ideas you have.

Regards
Andrew

[Xnews 6.12] How do I get Xnews to remember last used server? HEMI® - Powered 04:30:35
 Good morning, all.

I am running Xnews 6.12 and have two identities defined, one each
for two different NSPs. The red dot in Setup is in front of the
identity I want to use as my normal default when Xnews starts up,
but once I used the newly created 2nd identity, Xnews now starts up
in that server, /not/ the one with the red dot, which I thought was
supposed to tell it what the default or current server was.

How can I get Xnews to remember its default? I read the manual but
do not see anything obvious about this. Is there an Xnews.ini or
Server.ini switch I can set.

Thanks.

wsadmin - jacl script. How to tell if the nodes are synched from wsadmin? Norm Ayubi 02:15:29

I have written a wsadmin jacl script that lists all the nodes and then synchronizes the nodes. However, I would like to do a post synchronization check to see if all my nodes have been synchronized.

I am looking for a command line solution for this issue. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

nayubi
