| | I just spotted a tiny l'il 110x90px image ad in one of the four Google
ad spots on a web site out in the wild. Intrigued, I logged into my
ads and tried creating a new image ad. No such size was being offered
or shown on the image ad sample page.
I know for sure it's legit and not some overlay by the hosting page.
I'll leave out the actual file name so they don't get hammered, but
the image source was from
http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/verticals/110/
Has anyone been approached to test this new size?
BTW - there was no text on the ad image at all. Just a silhouette,
apparently of a native american, sitting in front of a sunset/rise.

I read somewhere that adding Google Adsense would get it on the search
engine much faster, a couple days I thought I read, but it still isn't

Until now I could find only
- online services with registration
- general backlink checkers with automated SE queries
- software for finding and organizing link partners
I just need a small program, that I can feed with pairs of linking
page/linked site, in order to check these from time to time.
Display of pagerank and/or anchor text would be fine, but is not
crucial.

I have two sites, one site I really care about and one doesn't matter
that much to me but it has high pr and lots of internal pages that I
recently stuck links at for the site I do care about. Since adding the
links to all the pages of the site I don't care about the site I do care
about has badly fallen in its serp. It was on page 3 before I added the
links and a few days after I added them the site fell from page 3 to the
last page of my serp. The site where I added the link to has 100 pages
and I added the link on all 100 pages of the site for the site I do care
about. Most of those 100 pages are pr4-5 and a few pr6's. Is there a
limit to how many links you should stick on the same site with same root
domain? I'm thinking that adding a link to all 100 pages witht he same
root domain is penalizing the site I care about rather then helping it?
Does anybody have any idea if there would be a penalization for doing
that and if there is what would be the maximum number of pages that I
can safely add a link to from those 100 pages without getting the site
the link goes to penalized?

home page last on 17th June and since then the cache is not showing
any updates. Is changing the extension of home page harmful and the

Wanted to run an observation by you.
One of my sites just got defaced by a group modestly calling themselves
[RiF ReVoLuTioN TeaM] Aside from the political BS they've been pushing
with their "defaced" banner, I have noticed a strange Google's behavior in
treating the defaced homepage:
Google's cache date is July 19
Google Sitemaps says: Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page
on Jul 19, 2006.
The site was defaced on July 22, fixed on July 25
It is July 26th now but the site's homepage listing in Google boasts the
stupid defaced title.
How come? Site listing updates three days AFTER the last cache retrieval?
Based on what data?
They could have linked to me with the stupid defaced stuff in the anchor,
but the site has 144,000 backlinks in Yahoo (though only 65 on Google) so
it wouldn't be easy to outweigh those legit ones, at least I'd like to
think so. Besides, that would also require Google IBL update at an
inopportune time for me but there were no updates AFAIK.
Anyone saw something like that before? Any idea how could that
dis-synchronization between the title and the cache for a page happen?
