Keyword Difficulty

Smart 13 June 2006 15:38:05
I included a glossary in my site www.webservicesfree.com , One of the
SEO tools I checked for this Keyword is Difficulty (around 89%). What
does this mean? Could someone explain to me.
thank you

The larger the market is for that keyword, then the harder it is to
get top SERPs.

If you were targeting say, "jewelery" then you will be fighting a
large, well established market.

If you wer targeting say "purple eyed bat wing soup" then the SERP
would be easy.

Does the % be used as a quantitative measure for the # of links needed
for the optimization , etc.

Well, ok I had a quick look. I think you have way too many Google
search boxes, ads etc on your home page. I don't suppose that helps
because your site looks like its principal purpose is adsense as
opposed to anything else. I have a feeling you may have a css problem
too, I think maybe parts of the page appear twice. Either way, I
wouldn't index much of it either.

Sorry Paul for including your comments in my tongue lashing to
smartass. I'm in GoogleGroups again and sometimes forget a step in my
posting procedures. My comment was for the OP. You know, the one that
multi posted the message in order to bring attention to a content
harvested web site

Depends on the SEO tool you used, it may be junk. No two SEO tools
return the same result and when you find one stick with the same SEO
tool so it doesn't skew your results.

To REALLY found out a keywords difficulty type allintitle:"keyword"
into Google to find out how many sites have the keyword in the title
tag. Type allinanchor:"keyword" to find out how many pages out there
use the keyword in anchor text links. Type allinurl:"keyword" to find
out how many web pages out there use the keyword in the URL of their
web site, Use paid online services such as wordtracker and trellion,
and do a little research on your competition.
