SQL Backtrack v4.00 for Oracle; Issues With Listing of Backups

SAP BASIS Consultant 19 November 2004 00:13:05
 Hello,

I created a few successful online backups, and 2 successful cold backups,
for a database using SQL Backtrack. The cold backup was taken today (Nov
18), and the online backups on Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.

However, when I try to restore my cold backups, they are not listed
as 'previous database incarnations'. However, it seems like SQL
Backtrack is asking for a data close to the cold backup, and not
one associated with the online backup. (Unless it chooses the online
and restores with the logs)..

Why would Backtrack not list the cold backups as database invocations,
and ask for a Nov. 18 date range for restoring a Nov. 16 online backup?

Thanks,
DF

Firstly latest version of SQL backtrack is 6.9.00 and you are using 4.0.00.
secondly in you menu you have been asked as per incarnation. You need to select proper time to rstore
In you case it would be "3"--> time to recover:-)

You may process all backup copies and the original database as well. After this the data can be restored by the sql database recovery program that can be found here: http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/when_does_database_recovery_sql_server_2005_occur.html
