How can know the true Windows version, even if the compatibility
is forced under XP (using the 'Properties|ompatib­ility' tab)?

 Try asking in the nativeapi group where the Windows API is the expected
subject and more people familiar with this will be found:

borland.public.cppb­uilder.nativeapi
