[magnolia-dev] DialogSuper children IDs

 Hi!

I am facing some big problem :-(­. I am trying to use some AJAXian stuff on the author instance. To
do this I need the INPUT (and some others) IDs.

Unfortuntaly the sub ID is autogenerated and what is more important is set too late: inside the
DialogSuper.drawSub­s.

As DialogSuper children list is not changeable (I mean once you added a sub there is no way to
remove it). So, I am thinking that the subs IDs can be assigned immediately after they are added
(meaning the ID is assigned in DialogSuper.addSub(­)) and this way we offer at least a moment before
drawHtml where you can use/retrieve this ID.

I am gonna apply the needed changes on my machine and test if everything is working correctly - but
I am quite sure this is gonna happen.


Please let me know urgently what do you think about this. Thanks in advance,

Unfortunately, this is still not enough. Do you guys know a way to get the IDs of the generated
INPUTs? (when using DialogSuper to define the custom dialog).

I am assuming that changing the DialogSuper.setId from private to public will break something, as
those autogenerated may be used in the scripts.

Where do you need this ID. The term AJAX suggest that you need this
information in the client side in JS.

Could you shortly explain the control. Perhaps I can help you out
with some tricks.

Think it should work. We must have a look at the getID and setID calls.

Which INPUTS the save info (hidden) or the real controls (text,
select, ...)
