OK, I think that I have exhausted everything that I can do. I have spent the last 3 days (8 hours a day), trying to install opengroupware with no success whatsoever. I have followed the instructions for the Red Hat install, precisely, about 5 times, with fresh installs of RH9 each time. I have also tried the Perl file about 5 times. So, I need some help.
I have 3 install CD's for RH9 that I am using. I have tried installing Apache and Postgresql from the CD as well as installing after. I have tried Apache 1.3.29, 2.0.40, and 2.0.49. I have tried Postgresql 7.3.2 and 7.4.2. I can install everything without errors, but I can not get to the web interface. If I try to use the Proxy method and access the site at http://intranet/OpenGroupware I get the error "Bad Gateway!" and something about the upstream provider. If I try to use the ngobjweb file I get the following error on startup:
I also can not access the site at http://intranet:20000
Please, OH, please help me. I would be so grateful to just get this working. Oh yeah, I am also a beginner with Linux so please don't answer with really brief statements, unless that is all I need.

Ok ...lets step through the exercise one step at a time.
1. Install a vanilla redhat 9.0 2. confirm that apache is running <version is not important at this point> 3. confirm that postgresql is running 4. we will assume that your network is up as your posting mail.
Getting the software; -------------------------------- 1. You can use Kelly G's install script that will download and install all required components automatically. http://www.toasterz.com/ogo/index.html 2. You can do it manually (See HowTo's above)
System Configuration Requirements ----------------------------------------------------------- Re-read the RH Install Howto and pay particular attention to setting up the database and setting up apache with appropriate module.
If you get stuck, post to the list, but please provide details and make the questions specific to one item at a time.

Err..Houston..... we have a problem..
Install RH9, select any option is really does not matter. Last I remember (since I dont use rh since 6.2) there was a workstation default install or something similar.
Just feed it the discs and setup the network so that you have access to the net. Once done, we can take if from there.
I have followed your advise with the workstation install. It should be done in about 30 minutes. What's next? There will be no Apache or PostgreSQL or any server related software.
