| IE6 Not Accepting Cookies From A Firewalled Web Site Peter Lakanen 03:52:32 |
| | I'm configuring a new server for a client. It is behind a firewall with both internal and external IP addresses. The server hosts two web sites, one written by me in ColdFusion, the other a legacy app originally written in ASP that I have to support. Both web sites use cookies.
On the new server, neither of the web sites are working when I login using IE6. Both of them work just fine with Firefox. What I mean by this is that when using IE6, the browser does not appear to be accepting the cookies at all.
I have added the sites to the Trusted Sites in both Security and Privacy. I have lowered all Privacy settings in IE6 to accept all cookies, but to no avail.
I have added the DOMAIN parameter to CFCOOKIE in the CF app, but it still doesn't work.
I'm guessing the issue is tied to the internal IP that IIS is configured for versus the external IP that IE6 sees.
Anyone know how to solve this? If it involves any code changes, both the ColdFusion and the ASP code would be appreciated.
I get this list in digest form, so if you have a solution for me, I would appreciate it if you could copy me directly on your post to the list so I don't have to wait 6 hours to see it.
Thanks!
-peter

| updater versions Mark A Kruger 03:52:30 |
| | What's the easiest way to determine the updater status of a cfmx installation? In the system information I have:
Server Product ColdFusion MX
Version 6,1,0,hf54464_61
Edition Standard
Which would indicate 6.1 with a hf 54464_61 (which I cannot find on the MM site).
I'd like to know what updater (if any) has been run and what hot fixes (if any) have been run post updater. Is there a log somewhere?

---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Michael Fleet <michael@disinnovate.com> Date: Sat, 5 Mar 2005 14:17:40 -0500 Subject: [commug] Google Maps: Hacking To: COMMUG Discussion List <commug@commug.org>
COMMUGers,
My wife & I are planning a trip to NYC in the near future, and I wanted to use Google maps to plot waypoints in the city. If you've played with Google maps, you've probably noticed that there's not yet an interface for entering custom waypoints.
Well, thanks to the work of some other smart folks, with a little XML & XSL, it's possible. Check out the following resources & have fun!
How to hack ("play with") Google maps:
http://libgmail.sourceforge.net/googlemaps.html http://stuff.rancidbacon.com/gmaps-standalone/
Examples of my test:
http://disinnovate.com/toybox/gmaps/pipes.html http://disinnovate.com/toybox/gmaps/pipes.xml http://disinnovate.com/toybox/gmaps/gmaps.xsl
Please note: This test is experimental and not fit for production use. It also renders differently in different browsers. The directions links ("to here", "from here") in my test page do not appear in some browsers, and don't work in any. File under "Proof of Concept", or better yet "Screwing Around".

| Two lists related? Vivec 03:52:23 |
| | Hey all,
A file needs to be uploaded, and then that file assigned to any number of clients. There can be like over 50 clients.So..I was going to display them in a list box..the left would be those that have not been assigned, those on the right would be those who can view the file.
I recall a while back there were several of these tags floating around, but now I'm looking for them and can't seem to find them anywhere!
Does anyone have a URL where I can pick one up?
Thanks!

| Quick and Easy way to submit/enter all form fields Timothy Claremont 03:52:18 |
| | I am looking for an easy way of submitting something like 100 form fields into the corresponding fields in a database, assuming that the field names in the database match the field names on the form.
Is there a method to grabbing all of the fields from the form and submitting into the equivalent fields in the database, or do I need to resort to the mile-long "ISERT blah blah blah INTO blah blah blah"?
Thanks!

| RE: Without just cause I would leave (OReilly vs. Moore) Angel Stewart 03:52:17 |
| | Monique.. Why would you leave the country?? It would mean that the system has gone wrong, either via intelligence or the administration itself. The only way to change that would be with your vote...to push your representatives to force those responsible to be held accountable, and in the case of an Administration misinforming intentionally your vote would see that they cannot continue past their term of office. Why on earth would you LEAVE your country and abdicate it to those wrong doers? There is a saying that most of the time when evil flourishes and grows it is because those good people with the power to make a difference do nothing! How can you say you would leave, but then on the other hand espouse that those who are oppressed fight their oppression? -Gel

| SOT: Style problems Cutter 03:52:15 |
| | Sorry for the OT, but I've never seen this one before.
In all of my pages I generally call two style sheets, one with site wide global style properties (background color, font attributes, menu block location, etc.) and one with page specific element style specs. I've been developing a new site. Yesterday I moved it from my development server to my testing server. Here's where the fun begins...
On my development server everything worked great. Now, on the testing server, the first style sheet loads but the second does not? Neither do the several .js files which follow it? Anyone ever seen anything like this? Here's the URL to show you what I mean:
http://s05.seacrets.com
Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

| CF syntax Won Lee 03:52:09 |
| | I'm just going to ask a technical question here because it's been a while since I posted to CF-Talk.
I haven't coded in CF in awhile but I needed to build a web application. I started to try to do it in PHP and ASP before I got so frustrated that I'm doing it in CF.
<cfquery name="getIncompleteOrders" datasource="#request.dsn#"> select * from view_incomplete_orders </cfquery> <cfquery name="getDestinations" datasource="#request.dsn#"> select destinationID, destination from destinations </cfquery>
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<html> <head> <title>List Incomplete Orders</title> </head>
<body>
<table border="1"> <cfform action="list_action.cfm" method="post"> <tr> <th>Date</th> <th>shares</th> <th>ticker</th> <th>price</th> <th>limit</th> <th>destination</th> </tr> <cfoutput query="getIncompleteOrders"> <tr> <td>#DateFormat(orderDate, "mm/dd/yy")#</td> <td>#shares#</td> <td>#security#</td> <td>$#price#</td> <td>$<cfinput name="limit_#orderID#" value="#limit#"></td> <td><cfselect name="destinationID_#orderID#" query="getDestinations" value="destinationID" display="destination" selected="#getIncompleteOrders.destinationID#"></cfselect></td> </tr> </cfoutput> <tr> <td colspan="6" align="center"><input type="submit" value="Update"></td> </tr> </cfform> </table> </body> </html>
----
That is the form page. Except I think I'm doing something wrong. The action page I want it to update the limit and destinationID based on the values inputted. So basically I'm letting them edit as many of the entries as they want to on one page. How is the best way to handle this. I remember doing this so many times except been awhile.
