I have a script which uses graphics which are in the cgi-bin, but I get
an Internal Server Error whenever I access it.

Is there an option I can include in my httpd.conf file to enable this
please?

You can override the settings of the directory "cgi-bin" by using a
Files-Container.

<Directory /your/cgi-bin>

<Files ~ "\.gif$">
SetHandler default-handler
</Files>

</Directory>
